UN Chief Antonio Guterres Expresses Heartbreak Over Gaza at Rafah Crossing

Gaza– United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres visited Gaza on a mission of humanitarian urgency, expressing his profound concern for the dire situation in the region. During his visit to the Rafah crossing, Guterres made a heartfelt statement, saying, “It’s impossible to be at the Rafah crossing & not feel heartbroken.”

Behind the fortified walls of Gaza, he pointed out that there are approximately 2 million people who are enduring an acute shortage of basic necessities, including water, food, medicine, and fuel. In a digital post on his personal account on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter), Guterres wrote, “On this side, these trucks of humanitarian aid have what they need. We need to make them move—as soon as possible, as many as necessary.”

The UN Chief emphasized the urgent need to mobilize humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of the people of Gaza. He further called on the international community to unite in providing support and ensuring that the essential supplies reach those in need promptly.

The situation in Gaza has been deteriorating, with longstanding conflicts and limited access to vital resources.
