Delhi bound flight makes emergency landing after bomb threat

A Pune-Delhi flight had to make an emergency landing in Mumbai after a passenger in the plane threatened the passengers including the cabin crew that he was carrying a bomb inside a bag. The Mumbai police has been looking into this matter of emergency landing, the man who threatened for the emergency landing because he need an immediate medical help but later, he triggered the passengers by claiming that he has a bomb with himself. Although, there has not been any suspicious thing did in the passenger’s bag.

The Pune to Delhi Akasa Air Flight had to make an emergency landing at 12:42 am on Saturday as one of the passengers said: “I have a bomb in my bag.” After that a team of Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS) were immediately called and his bag was also checked, as reported by the police officials. But the team and the police did not find anything of suspicion.

The statement was released by Akasa Air where they told: “As per safety and security procedures, the plane was diverted to Mumbai. The Captain followed all required emergency procedures and landed safely at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 12.42 am.” According to the police officials: “The CISF officer informed the Mumbai Police Control about the incident at around 2.30 am after which the luggage of the passenger of that flight was searched. The BDDS team as well as police officers were also present there. But during the investigation the police did not find any suspicious object there.”

The police officer also reported that there was a relative of the passenger who was also travelling in the same flight said that he had taken a medicine for his chest pain and from then, he kept on blabbering continuously. The flight resumed to its normal services at 6 pm, only after a thorough check conducted by BDDS and the offcials.
