RSS said that ‘caste census is a danger to the unity of the country’!

As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are approaching, the issue of caste census is making noise again. In the meantime, the RSS, which has expressed its opinion on the caste census, said, “There is a danger to the unity of the country due to the caste census.”

Speaking to news agency ANI, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Vidarbha Co-Convenor Sridhara Gadge said, “Nothing can be achieved by caste census. There is no need for it. There is no benefit from it. We only see damage from it.”

“A caste-based census can provide population data for a particular caste. Such an exercise can only benefit a few politically. However, this is not good socially and in terms of national unity,” he said.

“We feel there is no need for a caste census. If there is no other reason for this, what can we achieve with a caste-based survey? This is wrong. It is our clear stand that there should be no inequality, hatred, and fighting,” Sridhara told Gadge.

Referring to Amit Shah’s statement, Gadge said, “Political parties can have their own ground. But RSS strongly opposes caste-based census. RSS has been promoting social equality. In our country, division is created in the name of caste. It is our clear stand that if caste is the source of inequality in the society, it will be further aggravated by measures like caste census,” said RSS leader Sridhara Gadge.

Shridhara Gadge made this statement after the Maharashtra BJP and Shiv Sena MLAs visited the RSS headquarters on Tuesday and held a meeting.
