Rameshwaram Cafe reopened with security 8 days after the blast

Almost eight days after the explosion, the Rameshwaram cafe in Bengaluru reopened to customers this morning (March 9) with heightened security. At least eight people were injured in the blast.

On March 1, there was an explosion at Rameshwaram Cafe in the Whitefield area of Bengaluru. Now that it has reopened after eight days, customers are seen queuing up outside the outlet.

Before opening the cafe, its co-founder Raghavendra Rao and all the staff sang the national anthem. The current cafe has been renovated to provide a safe environment for the customers.

“We are taking all security measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. We are strengthening our security team and making efforts to form a committee of ex-servicemen to train our security personnel,” Raghavendra Rao told news agency ANI.

“We have given all the CCTV footage and information to the authorities. We will cooperate with the officer. We are grateful to the government for helping us to reopen the cafe so soon,” Raghavendra Rao said on Friday.

“The NIA will track down the culprit soon. We have taken all precautions before reopening the cafe. The government and the police have given us guidance on where to install more CCTVs. We will appoint a guard for security on the premises,” he said.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information about the Rameshwaram cafe blast. The agency also stressed that the identity of the informant will be kept confidential.
