Actress Rashmika Mandanna’s Praise for Modi’s Progress Sparks Controversy; Netizens Question Her Visit to Manipur Amidst Mixed Reactions

Actress Rashmika Mandanna recently praised the progress in the country in the last 10 years, especially the changes in infrastructure projects.

The video of this was posted by ‘Pushpa’ fame actress Rashmika Mandanna on her X, and netizens have expressed mixed reactions. While some netizens questioned when the visit to Manipur, Ladakh, others mentioned the IT attack.

In January this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 22 km long sea bridge, officially named Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari-Nava Sheva Atal Setu, and the actress praised the construction of the bridge. It will reduce the previous two-hour journey to just 20 minutes.

The video posted by Rashmika has received 4.6 million views and 3.9 thousand comments. An X user named Sanghi Prince said, ‘National crush is now becoming a nationalist’, while many netizens questioned when actress Rashmika will visit Manipur. Netizens have also mentioned the ED attack.

“Rashmika you should be ashamed. This Atal Setu was not built for us for free. We paid income tax after buying a car worth Rs 19 lakh. Out of which 9 lakh rupees is tax. We pay 200 percent tax on petrol. As the government has taken a loan of Rs 17,000 crore, we will also have to pay a toll fee of Rs 250 to repay it,” commented a netizen.

A netizen who posted a screenshot of the news of the IT attack on Rashmika Mandanna’s residence, joked, “From South India to North India, fear of ED attack”. Others questioned how much they were paid for this ad.

In January 2020, Income Tax officials raided actress Rashmika Mandanna’s residence. The raid was conducted in connection with the undeclared income of Rs 3.94 crore belonging to Rashmika Mandanna’s family.
