In a horrific yet shameful incident, a stepfather allegedly facilitated the rape of minor stepdaughter who is aged 17 years.
It is learnt that two friends of a migrant worker, who hailed from West Bengal, used to work as a security guard at a school, had been repeatedly raping the minor girl at their house in Ramamurthy Nagar. They used to allegedly rape the minor by paying a few thousand rupees to the victim’s stepfather.
A case was registered in Kadugodi police station limits in Bengaluru. Police have arrested the three suspects. Both the accused, Sagar and Sawan used to clean the washrooms and used to sit at chicken stall respectively. Both of them were friends with the minor’s stepfather. They used to pay the stepdad and used to take the victim to their room and sexually assault her. According to the police, the accused had been doing this since the month of April.
The incident came to light when the victim, who used to work as a domestic help, shared her ordeal with her employer, who took up the matter with an NGO. The NGO officials later alerted police about the horrific act. After receiving the complaint, the police kept watch on the girl’s movements and caught the accused from their room.
A case was registered on Thursday and the accused were held and sent to judicial remand on Saturday night. “A case under relevant IPC sections and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act were registered, and the accused were produced before the magistrate, who remanded them in judicial custody,” a police official said.
