Thiruvananthapuram: A full emergency was declared at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Thursday after a bomb threat was reported on an Air India flight from Mumbai, according to airport sources.
The flight, carrying 135 passengers, landed safely at around 8 a.m. and was directed to an isolation bay. All passengers were safely evacuated by 8:44 a.m.
The bomb threat was communicated by the pilot at 7:30 a.m. as the aircraft was approaching the airport, prompting the emergency declaration at 7:36 a.m. Airport operations remain unaffected, with no impact on life reported. Further details regarding the origin of the threat are still awaited.
