Manish Jaayswal, Vice President of Shine City, was arrested from his residence in Vikas Nagar on Thursday. A reward of Rs 50,000 was announced for his capture. He faces two criminal cases related to Shine City in Gomtinagar police station in 2019 and 2021, and another case of assault in 2018.
According to DCP North Ram Narayan Singh, Shine City Infra Project Pvt. Ltd. duped thousands of people of billions of rupees through cheap plots, digital currency, and other schemes. Over 550 cases are registered against the company in Lucknow and other districts. The investigation was transferred to EOW as per government orders. So far, 62 officials and employees have been arrested.
Manish, a resident of Vikas Nagar, was absconding for a long time. Police finally tracked him down to his Sector 3 residence. During interrogation, he revealed names of other individuals involved with the company.
Additional DCP North Jitendra Kumar Dubey said Manish, originally from Prayagraj, had purchased a flat in Jankipuram on loan. He vacated the flat and started living in Vikas Nagar on rent to evade police.
Shine City’s CMD Rashid Naseem, with a reward of Rs 5 lakh, remains at large, reportedly operating from Dubai. The company had created around 33 shell companies.
