American Rapper Lil Jon Embraces Islam in Public Ceremony

American rapper and producer, Lil Jon, made headlines this week as he publicly announced his conversion to Islam at the King Fahad Mosque in Los Angeles, California.

The 52-year-old artist, born Jonathan H. Smith in Atlanta, Georgia, visited the mosque on Friday, where he recited the shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith, in both Arabic and English, in front of a large congregation.
