Imphal: An attack was attempted on Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh’s family home in Imphal. The security forces intervened and pushed back the people who gathered at night. There are reports that the army fired in the air.
An attack was attempted on the family house in Haigang area of Imphal. No one was living in this house but it was heavily guarded. Biren Singh and his family live in the official residence.
The security forces said that the crowd was coming from two sides. Tires were piled up on the road and burnt. Tension prevailed in the place for a long time. Electricity was cut off in the entire area to evacuate the people. Tear gas shells were fired.
