Bengaluru: Seven schools receive bomb threat through mail, police searches underway

As many as seven schools in Bengaluru have received bomb threat through e-mail on Friday. City police commissioner Kamal Pant said police teams are at the spot conducting checks.

“Our local police are checking about it. There is a drill and as per that the bomb squads have gone there for checking,” Pant told reporters.

The email sent to one of the schools at 11.09 am on Friday, claimed that a “very powerful bomb” had been placed in the schools, according to The News Minutes. Later, the cops were informed immediately and searches are being conducted by the bomb squad within the school premises.

The email stated that a bomb has been planted in the school. “iOS not a joke. Immediately call the police and sappers, hundreds of lives may suffer, including yours, do not delay, now everything is only in your hands,” as per a screenshot, TNM reported.

“Based on the email, our teams are checking there at the spot…when more information comes, it will be shared with you (media),” the Commissioner said.
