In a shocking display of brazenness, a young thief pulled off a daring daylight robbery in Unchahar, Raebareli, making off with ₹2 lakh worth of gold jewellery from a bustling sarafa shop.
The audacious heist occurred on Friday morning at 10 am, when shopkeeper Amit Kumar Gupta was busy catering to a steady stream of customers at his Gokna Road store. As Gupta showcased gold ornaments to the thief, who had arrived on a Pulsar bike, the cunning culprit seized the opportunity to snatch 30 grams of precious sui dhaga jewellery from the counter.
CCTV cameras captured the entire incident, revealing the thief’s lightning-fast moves. Unaware of the theft, Gupta continued serving customers until he discovered the jewellery was missing. A frantic search ensued, but the thief had vanished into thin air.
This daring daylight robbery has left the community reeling, raising concerns about safety and security in the area.
The police were informed, and SSI Arvind Singh reached the spot to investigate the incident. Kotwal Anil Kumar Singh said that a case of theft has been reported from the shop and an investigation is being carried out with the help of CCTV footage. The police are reviewing the footage to identify the culprit and recover the stolen jewellery.”
