3rd ODI: Australia wins by 21 runs; India loses the series.

Chennai: Australia won the 3rd ODI against India by 21 runs and won the 3rd ODI series 2-1.

Chasing a challenging target of 270 runs, Australia was bowled out for 248 in 49.1 overs and suffered a humiliating defeat by 21 runs in the match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Likewise, they lost the three-match ODI series by 2-1.

Australia won the toss and batted first, losing all their wickets for 269 runs in 49 overs. Even though Virat Kholi (54) scored a half-century, India was bowled out for 248 runs in 49.1 overs.Facing 72 balls, Kholi scored 54 runs with the help of two fours and a six. Hardik Pandya’s all-round performance (40 runs and 3 wickets) was of no avail. Shubman Gill scored 37 runs, K.L Rahul scored 32 runs, and captain Rohit Sharma scored 30 runs.Suryakumar was out for the third time in a row.

Adam Zampa took four wickets, and Ashton Agar took two wickets for Australia. Australia, which batted first, managed to amass a challenging total despite no batsman scoring a half-century. Mitchell Marsh, 47, Alex Carey, 38, Travis Head, 33, Marcus Labuschagne, 28, Sean Abbott, 26, Marcus Stoinis, 25, Ashton Agar, 17, Mitchell Stars, 10, and Adam Zampa scored 10 not out. Skipper Steve Smith failed to open an account. For India, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets each, and Mohammad Siraj and Axar Patel took two wickets each.
