Upset over being sacked, driver killed geologist: Bengaluru Police

Days after a women’s body was found at her residence with a slit throat, it has come under notice that it was a former driver of hers who murdered her.

Senior geologist, Prathima K S was found with a slit throat on November 4. Her body was found on Sunday at around 8:30 am by the police. On Monday, the police arrested a man, who has been identified as Kiran who had worked as Prathima’s car driver, was earlier missing. “Kiran was recently taken out from the job by the department and was replaced by another driver. After the incident, Kiran’s mobile phone has been switched off,” said an officer.

He was a resident of JP Nagar in Bengaluru. According to the DCP (South), Kiran had gone to the hills with his two friends who were completely unaware about the incident.

On Saturday evening, Kiran went to Prathima’ s house and requested her to reinstate him as her driver once again, but she refused to his request. An enraged Kiran strangulated Prathima and then shifted her body to her bedroom. Afterwards, he slit her throat with a knife in her room.
