CAA implementation across India within 7 days: Union Minister Shantanu Thakur

Union Minister Shantanu Thakur has said CAA will be implemented across the country within seven days.

Addressing a public function in the Kakdweep area of South 24 Parganas of West Bengal, Shantanu Thakur said, “I will give you a guarantee that within seven days, CAA will be implemented not only in Bengal but across the country”.

Shantanu Thakur, who is a BJP Lok Sabha member from Bengal, repeated what Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said about the CAA statement.

Speaking at a public event in West Bengal in December last year, Amit Shah said that the BJP-led central government will implement the CAA. He said that no one can stop this.

A direct target of Amit Shah’s statement included West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has strongly opposed the CAA.

Amit Shah, who spoke at a public rally in Kolkata in December, appealed to the public to oust Mamata Banerjee and bring the BJP to power in the 2023 assembly elections as Mamata Banerjee is responsible for the rampant inflation, corruption, and political violence in the state.

In 2019, after the CAA was passed by both the Houses of Parliament and went for President’s assent, there were massive protests led by the opposition across the country.

According to news agency sources, the CAA rules are ready with the Centre and the scheme will be implemented before the Lok Sabha elections. Applicants coming to India under the scheme can declare the year and arrive without travel documents. No documents will be asked from the applicant.
