Human Welfare Foundation Launches Prof. Siddique Hassan Memorial UG & PG Scholarship for Marginalized Students

New Delhi: The Human Welfare Foundation (HWF) has announced its annual undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships for students from minority and backward communities, aimed at fostering higher education opportunities for economically disadvantaged youth.

This initiative provides financial aid based on academic performance, economic background, and social commitment. So far, HWF has supported over 8,650 students through its scholarship programs.

For undergraduate students, HWF offers scholarships of ₹10,000, while postgraduate students receive ₹15,000. This year, the foundation has introduced a new initiative, the Prof. Siddique Hassan Memorial PG Scholarship, named after the visionary behind the Vision 2026 project.

This special scholarship aims to support highly talented students from marginalized communities in pursuing higher education at premier institutions across India. Each year, 100 deserving postgraduate students will be awarded ₹30,000.

Disciplines Eligible for the Scholarship

The scholarship encourages students to pursue studies in social sciences and humanities, with courses ranging from LLB/LLM, MBA Rural Management, MA Sociology, to PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication, among others. A complete list of eligible courses has been provided, focusing on areas that contribute to social betterment and development.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must belong to minority or backward communities and maintain a minimum of 55% marks.
  • Candidates must be enrolled in one of the eligible courses.
  • Selection will be based on interviews.
  • The scholarship is refundable by students once they secure employment after completing their education.
