BSP’s Digital Revamp: Party Forms IT Cells to Counter Online Attacks

In a significant shift, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), which had until now maintained a distance from social media, has decided to embrace it. The party will now establish IT cells in every district to counter online attacks from opposition parties and amplify its outreach.

This strategic move aims to strengthen the party’s online presence, engage younger voters, and counter opposition parties’ propaganda. The national coordinator, Aakash Anand, has issued instructions to all state and district presidents to set up these IT cells.

Earlier, Anand had initiated efforts to connect youth with the party through social media platforms, YouTube, and a revamped party website. He also launched a missed call service to engage young people and expand the party’s digital footprint.

The BSP’s digital revamp comes at a crucial time, ahead of upcoming state and national elections. By leveraging social media, the party seeks to:

  1. Enhance its visibility and credibility among voters
  2. Counter misinformation and opposition propaganda
  3. Engage with younger voters and expand its support base
  4. Promote its ideology and policy initiatives

Aakash Anand will personally monitor the IT cells’ activities, ensuring effective implementation and coordination. This move demonstrates the BSP’s commitment to adapting to the changing media landscape and connecting with voters in the digital age.

With this digital overhaul, the BSP joins the ranks of other major Indian political parties with a strong online presence. As the Indian electorate increasingly turns to social media for news and information, the BSP’s digital revamp is a timely and strategic move to stay ahead in the political fray.
