New Delhi: The iPhone 16 series officially went on sale in India today, drawing hundreds of Apple fans to flagship stores in Delhi and Mumbai. Unveiled at Appleās Glowtime event earlier this month, the new iPhone models sparked excitement, with large crowds gathering outside Apple stores in Saket, Delhi, and BKC, Mumbai.
Videos from Select City Walk, Saket, showed eager customers lined up throughout the mall, while a similar scene unfolded at Appleās BKC store in Mumbai. Pre-sale demand was high, with over 37 million iPhone 16 models booked ahead of today’s launch.
For the first time, the iPhone Pro series is being offered at lower prices, thanks to a reduction in import duties. The iPhone 16 Pro starts at ā¹1,19,900, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max begins at ā¹1,44,900, compared to last yearās iPhone 15 Pro models, which were priced higher.
The iPhone 16 series, including four modelsāiPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Maxālaunched simultaneously in nearly 60 countries. Apple also announced plans to assemble the iPhone Pro Series in India for the first time, although those models will hit stores at a later date.
