A dead body has been lying for 25 years below the peak of Mount Everest

Mount Everest, the highest and most dangerous peak in the world, was conquered by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay for the first time on 29 May 1953. Since then, the list of those who climbed Everest is getting longer. Every year in late April or May, a large number of climbers reach here. Although Mount Everest is beautiful, it has many secrets as well.

What are Everest Green Boots?

According to the report of Nepali media, a dead body has been lying for 25 years two-three hundred meters below the peak of Mount Everest. This body is of Shewang Paljor. Climbers say that when they look at the dead body lying on Everest, it seems as if someone is sleeping tired. And if you do not know about him, then you will not be able to know that he is a corpse. The mountaineers identify this dead body by its green shoes. Because of which shewangs are now known as Green Boots. Some get scared seeing him, while others sit there and take photos.

ITBP jawan Shewang Paljor

Known as Green Boot, the body is of ITBP jawan and Indian mountaineer Shewang Paljor. On 10 May 1996, he went out with his companions to conquer Mount Everest. During this, a snow storm hit the mountains and he died. There is still controversy over his death. Some climbers say that Paljor could have survived the blizzard, but no one helped them. After the snow storm, he and one of his companions kept pleading for help, there were many climbers present, but no one helped them in their desire to win Everest. Since then his body has been lying there till today.

Shewang’s mother is angry with ITBP

Shewang’s mother, Tashi Angmo, still has many complaints with the ITBP. In 2016, she told the BBC that the ITBP had not given her the correct information initially, they only told that her son had gone missing on Everest. For several days, she kept circling the ITBP office in Ladakh, later it was found that her son’s body was lying on Everest.

Dead bodies show the way on Everest

The height of Mount Everest is close to 8,848 meters. Oxygen remains very less at such a height, due to which the intoxication of the brain and lungs starts bursting. Most of the deaths on Everest occur in the area above 8000 meters, hence it is also called the death zone. At the same time, snow storms have also killed many climbers. According to a report, till 2019, 308 climbers have died while climbing Everest. It is impossible to bring the dead body from that height, so most of the climbers leave the bodies of their companions there. The normal temperature on Everest ranges from minus 16 to minus 40. Because of which it acts like a deep freezer and the corpses do not rot. Climbers identify these corpses by clothing and shoes. Also, with the help of corpses, the path is now being identified.
