Applications are now being welcomed by the Islamic Development Bank for the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Undergraduate Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2024-25.
This initiative targets undergraduate students, granting them the opportunity to receive a full tuition fee waiver along with additional benefits.
The scholarship aims to facilitate educational access for outstanding students hailing from member countries and those within the Muslim community residing in non-member countries, empowering them to pursue their first-degree or undergraduate studies at universities.
The Islamic Development Bank provides a range of scholarships tailored to different academic levels and fields:
Undergraduate Scholarship Program (SPMC): This program supports academically talented students from Muslim communities in non-member countries, enabling them to pursue undergraduate studies in medicine, engineering, agriculture, and other development-related fields within their own country or IsDB member countries.
IsDB Master of Science Scholarship Program (M.Sc.): Designed for high-achieving professionals, this program funds master’s degrees in fields related to science, technology, and innovation.
IsDB Merit Scholarship Program for High Technology (MSP): This PhD and post-doctoral research-focused program promotes advanced study and development in applied science and technology.
IsDB-ISFD Scholarship Program: Tailored to the 21 Least Developed Member Countries (LDMCs), this scholarship supports talented youth to earn bachelor’s or technical degrees within their country or another IsDB member country.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Citizenship in any IsDB member country or affiliation with the Muslim community in non-member countries
- Completion of senior secondary education or equivalent (approximately 12 years of education)
- Attainment of good grades in major subjects
- Non-receipt of any other scholarship at the time of application or during the scholarship term
- Medical Fitness
The selected scholars will receive the following benefits:
- Full tuition fee waiver (paid directly to the university)
- A monthly living allowance which will include the living expenses, medical expenses at university or public hospitals
- Economy class air tickets to and from the countries of study (once at the beginning and the end of study), installation allowance, and educational equipment
- Extracurricular activities under a special program called the “Mentorship Programme” to ensure the scholar’s academic progress and social and psychological integration in the university as well as the local community environment
