Hamas-Israel Conflicts; China Drops Israel’s Name on Online Maps

China has removed Israel from its online maps, media reported, as the ongoing war between Israel-Hamas fighters intensifies.

Internationally known Chinese companies such as Baidu and Alibaba have dropped Israel from their online website maps.

According to the report, digital maps on Baidu show the borders between Israel and the Palestinian territories. However, the name does not identify the country. Even smaller countries such as Luxembourg are clearly identified on the Alibaba website. But the name of Israel is not recognized.

Many internet users in China have noticed this major omission. It is now a trending topic of discussion in the country. Alibaba and Baidu have not given an official explanation for the change.

Since the day Israel started its war on Gaza, China has supported a ceasefire in order to avoid the suffering of innocent people.

Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for an immediate ceasefire along with Egypt and other Arab countries to push for a comprehensive, just, and permanent solution to the Palestinian issue as soon as possible.

China is willing to maintain communication and coordination with Egypt. China’s Middle East Ambassador Zhai Jun said we will urge both sides to stop fighting and stop violence as soon as possible.
