Man assaulted with sticks and iron rods in Rajasthan’s Baran, case being lodged against the accused

Several people were booked in Kota for allegedly thrashing a 40-year-old man with iron rods and sticks in front of the Baran city municipal council office, police said on Monday.

A video was uploaded online where Annirudh Nagar was thrashed on Sunday by nearly 7-8 men at Pratap Chowk of the city, related to a personal enmity. The video which is of 44 seconds shows that the victim had laid into the ground after multiple thrashes from a group of people. The clip also indicated that Nagar himself anticipated the attack as it was seen in the video that he was armed with a stick and was in an attacking mode too.

However, the actual reason behind the act is still not known, it is assumed that the attack was due to a disputed land property which took place between the attackers and Nagar. The attackers were his neighbours also, as reported by the police.

The police has also lodged a case under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC against Ajay Sharma, Shayamu and Sanjay in connection with the matter. Rajesh Khatana ,the Circle Inspector present at the Baran City Police Station added that the accused were yet to be arrested.
