New Delhi: The Muslim population of India is estimated to be 19.75 crore in 2023, the government said in the Lok Sabha. In the 2011 census, the number of Muslims was 17.22 crore. This is 14.2 percent of the total population. The National Population Commission estimates that the total population in 2023 will be 138.82 crore.
According to the labor force survey of 2021-22, the literacy rate of Muslims under the age of seven is 77.7 percent. The share among entrepreneurs is 35.1 percent. 50.2 percent of the families were those who built a house or flat for the first time on March 31, 2014. 97.2 percent have toilet facilities. 94.9 percent are getting improved drinking water facilities.
