Need for a review of religious texts, Some selfish people inserted something in the book – Mohan Bhagwat

Nagpur: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said that there is a need to review the religious texts once again. The one who will stand this test after a review is both knowledge and religion. Mohan Bhagwat said these things on the occasion of the inauguration of Aryabhatta Astronomy Park at Kanholibra in Nagpur district on Thursday.

Bhagwat said that some selfish people inserted something in the scriptures. Because earlier we had scriptures through oral tradition. Later there were texts. Those books went from here to there.

The RSS chief insisted on re-examination of the scriptures, saying. ‘Our religion is run according to science. Earlier we did not have scriptures here. Passed by oral tradition. Later there were texts, those texts went from here to there.

Then later selfish people also entered. They inserted something in the book which is totally wrong. It is necessary to review those texts, and the knowledge of that tradition once again.

Bhagwat further said India has a vast store of traditional knowledge. Some selfish people have deliberately added wrong facts to the ancient texts. Some texts have been lost. Things that were left out earlier have been added to the syllabus prepared under the new education policy. He said that all Indians should be aware of the traditional knowledge of the country, and how that knowledge was acquired by us through common dialogue with the people and through the education system.

The Sangh chief said that historically India had a scientific way of looking at things, but with foreign invasion, our system and culture of knowledge got fragmented. Bhagwat said, if the people of India could find their traditional knowledge base acceptable even in the present times, many of the world’s problems could be solved.
