Bharat Bandh: Bank unions, state units extends support as farmers’ protest completes 300 days

While the continuous farmers’ protest against three contentious farm laws by the Centre completed 300 days on Wednesday, All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AlBOC) have extended their support to the ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by Samyukta Kisan Morcha on September 27.

AIBOC has urged the centre to re-open dialogue with the SKM on their demands and revoke the three contentious farm laws.

In a statement, the SKM said that various sections of the society are being reached out to by farmers’ outfits in different parts from across country to get their support and solidarity to the farmers’ cause, which is also becoming a movement to protect India’s democracy.

Workers’ unions, AIBOC affiliates, trade unions, employees’ and students’ unions, women’s organisations will join in solidarity with the farmers protest and bharat bandh on Monday.

Therefore, the preparations for the “Bharat bandh” on September 27 are in full swing.

The farmers’ movement is a testimony to the will and determination of lakhs of farmers in the country that would only grow stronger, the SKM said.

“The Samyukt Kisan Morcha states that this historic movement stands as a testimony to the will, resolve and hope of lakhs of farmers across the country. The SKM also vows to strengthen the movement, going forward, and make it more widespread,” it added.
