Jharkhand: Muslim Youth on Way to Mosque, Brutally Attacked; Case Registered

In Jharkhand’s Simdega district, a 24-year-old Muslim youth was attacked by a mob and beaten up ruthlessly, which left him brutally injured, Clarion India reported.

According to reports, the incident took place on the evening of November 28 when Adil Hussain, who suffers from schizophrenia came out of his house to offer evening namaz.

After the brutal attack, Hussain was hospitalized and then referred to RIMS in the capital city of Ranchi where he is undergoing treatment.

Talking to Clarion India, his brother Sahil Hussain said that Adil was first tied and then beaten up ruthlessly till they thought he was dead and left him there unattended. “We got the news at 10 pm, we went to the Sadar police station. They told us that there was an accident case. We found it was Adil. Later came to know that he was beaten up by some people,” Sahil said.

“We got a call from a man named Aakash Singh who claimed he saved my brother but later Adil said Aakash was part of the mob which attacked him.”

Sahil alleged that his brother Adil was attacked because he had a beard and wore a skull cap, which is the mark of Muslim identity.

Adil’s family filed a complaint in the Sadar police station. The police have registered a case of assault and attempt to murder under several Sections of IPC, including 144, 340, 323, 307 and 120B against Pradeep, Rohit Singh, and Chattu Prasad, etc, as per reports.
