While the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday, will hear a plea against the hijab ban in several junior colleges in the state, protests have erupted in Mahatma Gandhi Memorial college in Udupi as groups of students wore saffron shawls and turban to oppose those wearing hijab.
The hijab controversy has spread to several colleges in the state with students wearing saffron shawls to protest against the girls.
Karnataka High Court is scheduled to take up the hijab row petition on a priority basis on Tuesday. The Court will hear the plea filed by students in Udupi, regarding the ‘hijab ban’ placed across many colleges in the state.
