Mangaluru Boy Breaks World Record with 26 Underwater Flips in 37 Seconds at Yemmekere Pool

Mangaluru: 13-year-old Hadrian Vegas has set a new world record by completing 26 underwater somersaults in just 37 seconds at the Emmekere International Swimming Pool. Dr. Krishnamurti, the State Director of Nobel World Records, officially recognized the achievement.

Hadrian, a Class 8 student at Carmel CBSE School, accomplished this under the guidance of his coach, Aromal A.S., who praised the young swimmer’s remarkable feat. “Typically, flips are performed while holding the edge of the pool, but Hadrian managed to execute 26 consecutive flips in the middle of the pool, which is extraordinary,” Aromal said.

Hadrian’s talent was discovered during a summer vacation, leading to specialized training at Prestige International School’s pool and Emmekere. His father, Anil Vegas, a civil contractor, attributed his son’s success to Aromal’s keen observation and dedicated coaching.

The record-setting event was attended by several dignitaries, including Arun Prabha, GM of Mangaluru Smart City Limited, Praveen D’Souza from the Sports Department, and representatives from Prestige International School and Carmel CBSE School.

Hadrian now aims to set a Guinness World Record in the future.
