Muslim organisation demand 25 lakh compensation for Sameer Shahpur’s family

Muslim organisation Anjuman committee held protests on Monday at the DC office in Karnataka’s Gadag, demanding compensation of 25 lakhs to Sameer Shahpur’s family who was killed in by Hindutva members in Nargund.

Sameer Shahpur and his friend Shamseer Khan Pathan were attacked by members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Bajrang Dal on January 17.

On Sunday, the Karnataka government met the family of Bajrang Dal member Harsha, who was killed on February 20, and gave them a cheque of Rs 25 lakh as compensation.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj KS Eshwarappa, and Lok Sabha member BY Raghavendra met Harsha’s family in Shivamogga district. The government had announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the family on March 3.
