Stones were pelted at a mosque in Haveri district; 15 arrested


Karnataka: Several people were arrested on Tuesday after allegedly throwing stones at a mosque, Muslim-owned homes, and vehicles in Karnataka’s Haveri district.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at a motorbike rally held to dedicate a statue of Sangolli Rayanna in the district’s Rattihalli village. According to the police, during the march, close to 150 people abruptly turned around at around 11 a.m. and proceeded close to the mosque, where they threw stones.
Dr. Shivakumar, Haveri Superintendent of Police (SP), said, “Nearly 8–10 houses and two vehicles were damaged.” We have detained 15 people for investigation. Further action will be taken. “Currently, the situation is peaceful.”
