Udupi murder case: People’s outrage during the arraignment of the accused; Lathi charge by police

Praveen Arun Chowgale (39), who is accused in the Nejaru murder case of Udupi, was remanded to police custody till November 28.

In this background, the accused was brought to Mahajar (Thursday) by the Udupi police to the place where the murder took place. These informed locals joined the group. Also, some were outraged and protested.

Realizing that the situation was getting out of hand, the police at the spot resorted to light baton charge and dispersed the angry crowd. The people who are enraged by this are again blocking the road and protesting that the accused should be hanged.

This development took place when the police team led by Udupi DySP Dinakar brought the accused to the place.

When the angry mob, which had been waiting since morning, tried to attack the accused, it was reported that the mob was dispersed by a light baton charge.

It is reported that the people who are enraged by the lathi charge are protesting by blocking the road demanding the Udupi District Superintendent of Police to come to the place.

A tense atmosphere was created at the place and only a handful of police personnel were reported to be present. More information about this is yet to be known.
