Eight people were injured when a person sprinkled gasoline on a moving train and set it on fire

Kozhikode: Eight people, including women, were injured after a man poured gasoline on passengers on a train in Kozhikode, Kerala, which caught fire, police said.

According to officials, the condition of the injured is not severe.

The incident occurred in the D1 coach of the Executive Express, which was going from Alappuzha to Kannur.

Earlier reports said that after a clash with some passengers, including a woman, the accused poured gasoline on her and set her on fire.

According to Latish, who was in coach D.1, a man wearing a red shirt poured gasoline and lit a match. As a result, the coach caught fire, and at least eight people were injured.

Prakash, Ruby, and Jyothindranath, who were all said to have gone to Kannur Government Engineering College, are among those who were hurt. The names of the rest of the injured are not yet available.

Police are searching for the accused, who escaped in the commotion after the fire.

According to a senior police officer, the investigation is now focused on the man who randomly attacked passengers. This is a serious issue, and the reason for his attack is not apparent, the official said.

Three bodies, including a two-year-old child, were found on the same railway line. It is possible that they jumped from the train because of the fire. The dead body was found during a railroad line inspection.
