Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose decides to show CCTV clips to citizens

The Raj Bhavan took to its official X handle (formerly known as twitter) and wrote, “Governor CV Ananda Bose has launched a program Sach Ke Saamne in the background of the mischievous and fabricated allegations by the police that Raj Bhavan is not sharing the CCTV footage of an incident which is under the illegal and unconstitutional investigation of the police.”

The post further said that that anyone who wants to see the footage can send a mail to Raj Bhavan and that the first 100 people would be invited for the screening at 11.30am on Thursday inside the Raj Bhavan.

Bose was accused on the molestation case on May 2. It was the very next day when the Kolkata Police had set up an enquiry team to probe the allegations. The Kolkata police had said that they had retrieved the CCTV footage from Raj Bhavan and that they also plan to speak to some of the staff members of Raj Bhavan. It was on May 5 that Bose had asked the staff members at Raj Bhavan to ignore the police inquiry by citing Article 361 of the Constitution. Under Article 361, no criminal proceedings can be initiated against the President and the governor of a state as long as they are in office.
