Nitish Kumar praised the UPA government at the newly constructed Nalanda University

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (June 19) inaugurated the Nalanda University campus in Rajgir of Nalanda district.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi addressed the public and said, “Nalanda is the proclamation of the truth that knowledge cannot be destroyed even though books would burn in a fire. A country that protects its human values knows how to recreate its history.”

Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar and other dignitaries were also present at the centre. Praising the Nalanda University and providing a history of the university, Nitish Kumar gave a speech on the construction of the university. Lauding the then President APJ Abdul Kalam’s efforts for the construction of this university, Kumar said, “The idea of a new Nalanda University campus in Rajgir is the brainchild of former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam”

Kumar, who is known for switching political parties too quickly was also seen praising the UPA government in the presence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, “Nalanda University was to be made of international standards, so he requested the then-UPA government … But the then-[Union] government was delaying [the process], so the Bihar government made a law and acquired 455 acres of land for the new campus.”
