India enters finals of T20; defeats England in the semis

Team India won the second semi-final against England by a huge margin of 68 runs of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

The ‘Men in Blue’ will now face South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 Final which is scheduled on June 29. India continued their revenge game with England after wiping out the team for just 103 runs. Meanwhile, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the heroes of the match taking 3 wickets each as India declared a 68-run win.

Although, rain disrupted the match for sometime making people doubtful on whether the match would be halted or shifted to reserve day, there was a slight delay in the first innings and the match began after the sky was clear. England had won the toss and decided to field where India scored a total of 170 runs on the scoreboard with the captain Rohit Sharma scoring a half century and Suryakumar Yadav scoring 47 runs. England got hope when it was successful in taking Virat Kohli’s wicket, who scored on 9 runs.

The second innings saw a slow start from England’s team with the captain making 23 runs before being out by Axar Patel. The highest runs were scored by Harris Brook (25 runs) and his wicket was taken by Kuldeep Yadav. England team got swept away with just 103 runs on the scoreboard with the Men in Blue jumping in joy to have reached the finals of the T-20 World Cup. Last year, the team was defeated by Australia in the 50 over World cup which took place in their hometown. India will now be facing the Proteas on Sunday at Kensignton Oval in Barbados.
