New Delhi (PTI): Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chief Rahul Gandhi paid heartfelt tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary on Wednesday, emphasizing the continued relevance of his ideals in today’s world.
Rahul Gandhi expressed that Mahatma Gandhi was more than just an individual, calling him “a way of living and thinking.” He added, “Bapu taught me that to live without fear, we must walk the path of truth, love, compassion, and harmony while uniting everyone.” Rahul Gandhi also paid floral tributes at Gandhi’s memorial at Rajghat.
Kharge reiterated that the principles of truth, non-violence, and satyagraha, championed by Mahatma Gandhi, remain an inspiration. He remarked, “Today, we are facing challenges to his ideals, and we continue to follow Bapu’s path. Best wishes to all on Gandhi Jayanti.”
The Congress party also remembered former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and leader K. Kamaraj, honoring their contributions to the country on their respective anniversaries.
Congress leaders K.C. Venugopal and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also echoed these sentiments, reaffirming their commitment to Gandhi’s message of truth and non-violence.
