Rahul Gandhi Voices Concern Over Market Crash, Calls for Measures to Protect Small Investors

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed deep concern over the recent steep decline in Indian stock markets and stressed the need to protect young investors, the salaried class, and everyday citizens who have invested their savings.

In a recorded phone conversation with Pawan Khera, head of the Congress media and publicity department, Gandhi called the stock market a “space of risk” and urged Congress leaders to find ways to advise retail investors on safeguarding their investments.

“Let me know how I can help,” Gandhi told Khera, indicating his readiness to participate in a communication campaign to support retail investors. Sharing the video of his conversation on Instagram, Gandhi wrote, “Who is in the syndicate that guards the corrupt?”

Friday saw a significant market crash, wiping out ₹6.8 lakh crore from investors’ wealth as the BSE Sensex plunged 662.87 points to close at 79,402.29, while the NSE Nifty dropped 218.60 points to end at 24,180.80, marking its fourth straight week in decline.
