Bulli Bai Case: Kerala Activists Named in App Meet CM Vijayan Pinarayi, Demand Action Against Miscreants by State Government

Fraternity Movement National Secretary Aysha Renna, along with student activists Ladeeda Farzana and Nidha Parveen, auctioned in the Bulli Bai App, met Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan Pinarayi on Tuesday demanding strict action against those behind the app.

Aysha, Ladeeda and Nidha expect a speedy and comprehensive actions from the state police against the miscreants.

On January 1, images of hundreds of Muslim women were put up online for “auction” without their consent on the Bulli Bai app, hosted by GitHub.

Talking to THG, Aysha said, “Arrests are happening by Mumbai and Delhi police. But we want some action to be taken from our government as well. We have filed a complaint here with the Commisioner of Calicut and also had a conversation with the Chief minister. Mr. Pinarayi said that he’ll investigate into the case.”

While, Mumbai cyber police had nabbed Vishal Kumar Jha from Bengaluru and Shweta Singh and Mayank Rawal from Uttarakhand, on January 6, Delhi police’s special cell, arrested the alleged creator of the app Niraj Bishnoi from Assam.

The trio also visited Kerala Women’s Commision Chief P Sathidevi. “We visited Women Commision here in Kerala. They gave us positive response and said they’ll look into the case and do everything possible thing to help them,” she said.

In July last year, Ladeeda Farzana was among the other Muslim women named in the Sulli Deals case where photos of prominent Muslim women were uploaded on the app, with a text: “deal of the day”. After six months, Delhi Police arrested the alleged creator of the Sulli Deals app Aumkareshwar Thakurnearly from Madhya Pradesh’s Indore on January 8.

Aysha stated, “Even earlier during the Sulli Deals case we had registered a complaint here in Kannur but no action was taken. Ladeeda’s name was in the Sulli case. This time we decided not to slide this case. We’re making efforts to meet people, so that there would be some action from part of the Kerala State government.”

“The cyber cell called Ladeeda and took evidences, the case is in progress,” national secretary of Fraternity Movement said adding that, “We want action to be taken at the earliest.”

“This is just a part of the hate crime that the Sangh Parivar have been going on for so long. We’ll be going ahead with legal action till the last person involved in the case is arrested. We’ll be also looking forward to get them the maximum punishment for the culprits,” Aysha Renna noted.
