Bhagyashree Walikar however wants to clear IAS and become collector
BIJAPUR; 15 April: In the competitive exams conducted by Union Public
Service Commission, a village girl, Bhagyashree Walikar has cleared Indian
Engineering Service (IES) and brought accolades to the district.
Native of Muttagi village of Basavanabagewadi taluk, she secured 39 th rank in
IES in the country.
She has cleared IES exam in the first attempt itself.
Having studied in Kannada school till class 5, she completes here further
education till 12 th at Jawahar Navodaya School at Almatti.
A brilliant student from the high school itself, she got 91% marks in PUC.
Completed Engineering in Electronic and Communication from Gogate College
of Belagavi, she later spent a year in preparing for UPSC in Hyderabad.
Daughter of school teacher, Bhagyashree has shown strong determination in
her studies and career.
Expressing her views, she said that the women should come forward in
education and show determination in achieving the goals.
She said that since she still has chance to attempt for IAS, she will try her best
to complete IAS.
Meanwhile, the members of Karnataka State Primary Teachers Association
honoured her.
Chandrashekhar Nulgi, M. S. Mukartihal, Salim Daded, H. H. Dodmani, R.S.
Kamat, S. S. Patil, M. M. Mulla, S.H. Dasar and others were present.
