Congress Bank accounts that were canceled by Income Tax Department are now active

Many accounts of the Congress party, which were canceled by the Income Tax Department, were reinstated after an hour. They were implemented after the party filed an appeal before the Appellate Board of the Income Tax Department, Delhi.

Party treasurer Ajay Maken, who spoke to reporters about this, said, “This is a blow that disrupts the democratic process. It is a one-party rule. He is going to patronize the main opposition party. We are asking for justice from judiciary, media and people,” he said.

“Based on the Manmohan Singh Committee report, we have given the names of all the MLAs, and MPs who have contributed to us. We currently have no money to spend. Electricity charges, staff salaries, and our Nyay Yatra will all be affected by this. This is clear at this point. We have connected everything with one PAN and four accounts,” he said.

AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge also expressed outrage over the cancellation of the account, saying, “BJP has collected unconstitutional money and used it for elections. But we raised money through crowdfunding. We have already said that they are doing it in such a way that there will be no elections in the future. We are appealing to the judiciary to preserve the multi-party system. We will fight in the streets against injustice and dictatorship,” he said.

“In a fit of power, the Modi government has canceled the accounts of the country’s largest opposition Congress, just weeks before the Lok Sabha elections. This is a big blow to democracy,” said Kharge.

The cancellation was said to be due to the late submission of the return by the revenue department by 45 days, which the Congress alleged was a violation of rules by the tax department and interference by the Centre.
