Women’s Premier League: RCB loses fourth straight match, only team yet to open an account in the points table

Royal Challengers Banglore captain, Smriti Mandhana spoke frankly about her team’s dismal Women’s Premier League 2023 season opening. After a humiliating 10-wicket loss to UP Warriorz on Saturday, RCB put on yet another poor display with both bat and ball.

Despite having great players like Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, Heather Knight, Megan Scutt, Renuka Singh, and Richa Ghosh, the Bangalore-based club is currently under scrutiny for not living up to expectations.

At the Brabourne Stadium, UP Warriorz defeated RCB by 10 wickets with as many as 42 balls remaining after being bowled out for 138.

Mandhana accepted responsibility for her actions and acknowledged that it is her responsibility as the top-order batswoman to get her team off to a strong start.

“I think in the last four games, it has been happening. We start well and we lose a cluster of wickets. I will take the blame as well. As a top-order batter, we need to put up runs on the board for the bowlers to defend,” Mandhana said after the game.
