Former Kalakshetra Faculty Member Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault on Ex-Students
Police have apprehended a 51-year-old former faculty member of the Kalakshetra Foundation in the city, identified as Sheehjith Krishna, on charges of sexually assaulting two former students.
The arrest follows a preliminary inquiry prompted by a complaint filed by two women, alleging that Krishna sexually assaulted them during their time as students at Kalakshetra between 1995 and 2007.
Acting on directions from the Madras High Court, authorities conducted the preliminary investigation, leading to the registration of a case against Krishna at the Neelankarai All-Women Police Station. A police team, headed by an inspector, arrested the accused, who has since been remanded to judicial custody.
