Junior Hockey: Boys win Girls lose against Netherlands

New Delhi: While the Indian junior boy’s hockey team won the last match of their tour to the Netherlands, the girl’s team stumbled.

The boys’ team won 4-0 against the Netherlands, while the girls’ team lost 1-4.

Rohit Irengbam Singh, Ketan Kushwaha, Rahul Rajbhar, and captain Manmeet Singh Rai scored for the boy’s team.

“Delighted to end this historic tour with a win. The boys team performed well in the tournament. It is a matter of pride that such a good performance has been made on foreign soil as well”, said Keech Sardar Singh of the boys’ team.

Kajal scored the only goal for India in the girls’ match.

“We still need to improve in some areas. The Netherlands tour helped us to identify our strengths and weaknesses”, commented Rani Rampal, former captain of the Indian team and coach of the sub-junior girls’ team.
