Lucknow, 28 September – The Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up to introduce significant changes in the recruitment process for Group C jobs, specifically for families of deceased employees.
As per the new rules, dependents of fourth-category employees who pass away during service will only be eligible for fourth-category jobs, despite their qualifications for Group C positions. This amendment aims to align with a Supreme Court order.
A proposal is being prepared at the state level, which will soon be presented to the cabinet for approval. Government sources confirm that this change is being made in compliance with the Supreme Court’s directives.
Currently, dependents of Group D employees can secure Group C jobs if they meet the educational requirements.
In a related development, the Uttar Pradesh government will also address pension reduction issues. A delegation from the United Pensioners’ Welfare Committee met with Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna to discuss the matter. The minister assured that the issue is under consideration, and a decision will be made soon.
The delegation, comprising NP Tripathi, Co-Convenor Omkar Nath Tiwari, Vice President of Uttar Pradesh Pensioners’ Welfare Association Gopi Krishna Shrivastava, and Babu Lal, also invited the Finance Minister to attend the committee’s convention on November 26 in Lucknow.
