Lucknow, [30 September ] – The Shia community in Lucknow expressed outrage over the death of Hezbollah Lebanon’s Secretary-General, Ayatollah Syed Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli attack.
On Sunday, black flags were hoisted in old city areas, and shops remained closed in protest.
In the evening, a candle march was held, and the Israeli flag was laid on the ground at the Imambada gate to express discontent. Various places held majlis (mourning gatherings) to pay tribute to Nasrallah.
After Maghrib prayers, hundreds gathered outside Chhota Imambada and held a candle march to Bada Imambada. Similar marches were held at Dargah Hazrat Abbas.
Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad addressed the majlis at Dargah Hazrat Abbas, appealing to the Shia community to observe a three-day mourning period.
Shia Chand Committee President Maulana Syed Saif Abbas Nakvi, All India Shia Personal Law Board Secretary Maulana Yasub Abbas, and others paid tributes.
A Quran Khwani and majlis were held at Masjid Rahat-e-Sultan Noorbadi.
