Kargil Vijay Divas: Dignitaries pay tribute to martyred soldiers

New Delhi: As part of the 24th anniversary of victory in the Kargil war, tributes are being paid to martyrs across the country on Wednesday.

In this context, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the martyred soldiers through Twitter.

Kargil Vijay Divas tells the stories of Indian heroes. They has always been an inspiration to the people of the country. On this special day, I salute them, tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This day is a day of victory for millions of countrymen. It is a day to pay tribute to all the mighty warriors who defended the motherland. This victory was achieved through the sacrifices of the brave soldiers of Mother India. Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, “Salute to all soldiers who fought for the integrity of the country”.

On Kargil Vikargil Vijay Divas, salute all the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to save the country! Defense Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted. Along with this tweet, he shared a video of the victory.

On this day in 1999, the Kargil War, also known as the Kargil Conflict, officially ended. Indian soldiers successfully recaptured the mountain ranges captured by Pakistani infiltrators.
