Agra: Continuous rainfall over the past three days has caused water leakage in the main dome of the Taj Mahal, sparking concerns among visitors. A video of the sunken garden within the premises went viral on Thursday, drawing the attention of tourists.
However, Rajkumar Patel, Superintendent of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Agra Circle, reassured that the dome remains undamaged. “We observed the leak in the main dome, but after inspection, we found no structural damage. The issue was simply due to water leakage, and we have checked the dome using drone cameras,” he said.
The viral 20-second video of the rainwater-filled garden, captured by tourists on Thursday evening, quickly gained attention online.
