Taking cognizance of the violence witnessed in various parts of India during Ram Navami Shobha Yatra, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned and expressed “deep concern the acts of violence and vandalism targeting Muslim community in several states in India during the Ram Navami processions”
The OIC also pointed out the burning of a madrasa Azizia and its library by “extremist Hindu mob”, in Bihar Sharif on March 31st, 2023.
The OIC General Secretariat denounced such “provocative acts of violence and vandalism” and termed it a “vivid manifestation of mounting Islamophobia and systemic targeting of the Muslim community in India.” It called upon the authorities to take appropriate action and guarantee Muslim safety and security.
The External Affairs Ministry promptly released a statement condemning OIC for it “communal mindset” and “anti-India agenda.”
