PM Modi breaks his silence on the allegations of India’s plot the killing of Khalistani separatist, Gurpatwant Pannun in the US

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi finally broke his silence and for the first time spoke about the allegation of an Indian assassination plot to kill khalistani separatists on the US soil.

It was during an interview with the Financial Times that PM Modi said, “If someone gives us any information, we would definitely look into it”. The Prime Minister also added, “If a citizen of ours has done anything good or bad, we are ready to look into it. Our commitment is to the rule of law”.

It was only during the last month that US federal prosecutors charged Indian national Nikhil Gupta and alleged that he was working with an Indian government employee in a plot to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who happens to hold an American and Canadian citizen. Currently, Gupta has been detained in the Czech Republic.

India also described the following plot as a “matter of concern,” and announced a high-level investigation and also said that a follow-up action will be taken which will be purely based on the findings of investigation panel. Meanwhile, India’s External Affairs Ministry made an inquiry committee to focus into the inputs which were received from the US related to this case.

Earlier in the month of September, it was Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who made certain allegations regarding India’s involvement in Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s killing. The allegations were rejected by India calling them “absurd” and “politically motivated.”
