Puneeth Kerehalli’s Dog Meat Case: “No Evidence of Dog Meat Found,” Says Food Department Commissioner Srinivas

Bengaluru: Puneeth Kerehalli sparked controversy by halting the transportation of sheep meat from another state to Bangalore at the railway station, alleging it was mixed with dog meat. However, he did not provide any evidence. Food Department Commissioner Srinivas stated that no notice has been given to Muslim leader Abdul Razak regarding the case.

After collecting information, Commissioner Srinivas addressed the media, saying, “We have currently issued licenses to 12 individuals to sell meat. We have asked them to visit and provide information. If these 12 individuals do not comply today, we will issue a notice. If they fail to attend the hearing, their licenses will be canceled.”

Three FIRs have been registered at Cottonpet police station, and an investigation has begun. A third FIR has been filed against Puneeth Kerehalli and his accomplices, who are accused in multiple cases, including murder, for charges of illegal meat sale, rioting, and obstructing government employees’ duties.

“At present, it does not appear to be dog meat. We have sent the samples to the lab and will take action upon receiving the report,” Commissioner Srinivas added.
